Job Description

TECHEAD is currently seeking a IT Project Manager to join their team.  The responsibilities of this critical IT Project Manager role include but are not limited to:

  • Planning, execution and risk management aspects of the project using SCRUM and other Agile approaches.
  • Asking penetrating questions, identifing unstated assumptions and resolving personnel conflicts along with more systematic project management skills.
  • Communicate deadline and budget information to the leadership teams and will conduct frequent status meetings regarding project management statistics to ensure all parties are informed regarding all aspects of the project.
  • Sprint planning, leading daily stand up meetings, maintaining and prioritizing product backlog, mitigating risks, resolving issues and impediments, providing status reports to management using Agile Metrics such as burn down, project velocity etc.
  • Participate in requirements gathering, create project planning, project execution and project control documentation such as: project management plan, project budget plan and project Schedule. Track and update Risk Register; Create and maintain Sprint Backlog; Testing Strategy; and Post-implementation Review.
  • Resource Planning and Management – identify roles and associated skills needed to build project team.  Request appropriate staff be available; Assess current resource allocation and recommend any changes to senior management; Understand current and future work to ensure that the appropriate staffing needs are communicated to the management: Assess current resource allocation and recommend any changes to management; Ensure effective utilization of resources; Time sheet approval; Budget creation and management; Provide performance feedback, professional development coaching and skill set analysis for direct reports.
  • Project Coaching and Mentoring – provide developmental support to project managers and teams with the goal of improving project management capabilities. Process Improvement – provide support for organizational process improvement initiatives to include creating, updating and socializing standards, processes, procedures, templates and guidelines as needed.
Position Requirements

The successful candidate for this IT Project Manager role must possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • Deep experience with Agile development methodology and practices.
  • Certified SCRUM Master (preferred).
  • Bachelor’s Degree in any business/technical discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Extended hours 3-5 times per month for problem resolution and completion of priority projects.
  • Must be detail oriented and capable of handling multiple tasks at the same time.
  • Knowledgeable – Possess basic understanding of PMBOK best practices and demonstrates flexibility and adherence to departmental standards.
  • Visionary – Maintains a long-term, big-picture view and identifies emerging trends and opportunities, articulates clear strategies to achieve intended results, and provides the resources team members need to be successful in achieving the company’s vision.
  • Teamwork – Solicits and is receptive to input and feedback from team members, pursues continuous learning with others in teams, works to instill and maintain cooperation among team members and adapts behavior and communication style to be effective in the situation.
  • Treats all team members with respect.
  • Effective Communication – Actively listens to others to gain an understanding of different perspectives, provides useful and consultative feedback in a respectful manner and communicates to appropriate parties immediately upon discovery of potential problems and ensures “no surprises”.
