Employee Guidelines

Contact Your TECHEAD Representative When...

  • You are going to be late or absent for an assignment for any reason. Please call the client FIRST and inform them of the situation before you call us.
  • You arrive at the assignment to give us a contact number and email address where TECHEAD can reach you.
  • You are unable to solve a computer or software problem. Someone at our office will try to help you over the phone. Please give us as much detail as possible about the problem.
  • You are unhappy with the assignment. We want your job experiences to be as pleasant as possible.
  • You have any questions or concerns about your assignment or TECHEAD guidelines or benefits.
  • The client wants to hire you directly.
  • Your assignment is different than what the representative described to you. Changes could be in length of the assignment or in the tasks that you are asked to do.

"How do I find out about jobs?"

Once you have been interviewed, one of our representatives will contact you to let you know about assignments. You can also review Techead job postings section at www.techead.com to learn about open positions that may interest you. If an opportunity becomes available for which you are qualified, we will inform you of assignment details such as the client’s name, address, job site directions, office hours, dress code, approximate assignment length, job description, and your pay rate. We want you to feel as comfortable as possible once you are on the assignment.

Pre-Employment Screening

All employees of TECHEAD will have a background check and reference checks completed prior to employment. Some positions may require additional screens, such as a credit check or a drug screen. You will be notified up-front if additional screenings are required for an assignment. Any results that show a discrepancy from a candidate's application, or do not pass the criteria for an assignment, will result in termination from an assignment and/or from TECHEAD.

Techead Policies

Sexual Harassment

Sexual harassment is defined as conduct that is sexual in nature and is unwelcome by another person. TECHEAD firmly prohibits sexual harassment of any employee by another employee, supervisor, or a third party. Harassment of third parties by our employees is also prohibited. If you feel that you are a victim of sexual harassment, contact your TECHEAD representative immediately. If TECHEAD is informed of a sexual harassment complaint against you, your TECHEAD representative will contact you immediately. Disciplinary actions may include verbal and/or written warnings, release from an assignment, or immediate termination from TECHEAD.

Professional Conduct/Confidentiality

All TECHEAD employees are expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times while representing the company. Failure to do so will result in an immediate dismissal from the assignment and TECHEAD.

Job Performance

As an employee of TECHEAD, you are expected to perform your job duties in a satisfactory manner for our clients. Expect your TECHEAD representative to check in with you from time to time while you are on an assignment. If there are issues with your performance on an assignment, disciplinary actions may be taken. These may include a verbal warning, written warning, suspension, and/or discharge. If you are on an assignment and you decide to leave the position, we request that you give the client and TECHEAD two weeks notice. This allows us time to find another candidate for your position.

While on Assignment...

...arrive on time
Always allow yourself extra time on the first day of an assignment to ensure enough time to find a parking space and correct building.

...dress appropriately
Your representative will let you know what type of clothing is appropriate for your assignment. Clothing should be neat, clean and season-appropriate for your assignment. Employees who do not adhere to certain dress and hygiene codes for an assignment may be sent home.

...abide by these rules
Please treat the client's property with care. Refrain from making personal phone calls, "surfing" the Internet, and working on personal or freelance projects while on assignment. Doing so may result in your termination from the assignment. As you finish your assigned tasks, be sure to ask if there is anything else that needs to be done.

...turn in your time log
Before your assignment begins, you will be given instructions on how to submit your time. Hours should be turned in weekly via TULIP, our online timekeeping system, or by submitting a paper timesheet. Use a new time log for each client and for each week. Get your completed time log signed before you fax it to us. We cannot pay you without an authorized signature. If your supervisor is out of the office or unable to approve your time, contact your TECHEAD representative for additional instructions.

"How do I get paid?"

Friday is payday. You are paid on a bi-weekly basis unless there is more than a week's lapse in employment. Our payroll is two weeks behind, so please review the payroll schedule included with your interview information package. Depending on your start date, your first paycheck may take up to four weeks to be processed. To be paid on time, you must turn your time log in each week by close of business on Friday.

If you will be working over the weekend, please contact your TECHEAD representative so payroll can be notified. You will then be in the system to receive a check every other Friday until the completion of your assignment. If there is a break in your employment with us, the cycle will restart. Overtime is paid for hours worked in excess of 40 per work week (Monday - Sunday) per client. Do not ask for an "advance" on your paycheck. Note that prior approval must be gained for any overtime hours.

A Direct Deposit form will be provided by your TECHEAD representative. If you choose not to participate in direct deposit, your check will be mailed. If would like to pick up your check at our office, you must specifically make a request 24 hours prior to payday. If a national holiday falls on a Friday, please call our office to find out what arrangements are being made for check pickup.

Please keep in mind that if your check is mailed, it is out of our control after it leaves our office. If you have not received your check by the following Friday after your check was mailed, we will need to put a stop payment on the "lost" check and will reissue another check for you to pick up. If we have to put a stop payment on a check a second time and reissue a new one to you, we will need to charge you for the stop payment fee, which is currently $25.00.

After an Assignment

Call or email your TECHEAD representative weekly and let us know your availability for assignments. We will keep your name on a list of available candidates. If your status changes, please inform us immediately. Also, let us know if you have a new address or phone number and keep us updated on any new skills you may have acquired.
