At TECHEAD we believe in hands-on, instructor-led training. The individuals who lead our classes combine enthusiasm and experience to create a great learning environment.
Sean Cooke
Lead Instructor - Richmond
As an Adobe Print Specialist, Sean Cooke carries the most Adobe instructor certifications in Virginia; furthermore, he ranks within the top 20 most certified instructors nationwide. Also, he has held the rank of #3 Adobe Instructor worldwide. Sean is an Adobe Certified Instructor in Adobe Acrobat 9, Adobe Illustrator CS4, Adobe Photoshop CS4, and Adobe InDesign CS4, with an in-depth knowledge of Adobe InCopy CS4, Adobe Flash CS4 and Adobe Dreamweaver CS4. He has worked in all aspects of printing, from commercial offset and screen printing to wide-format digital and vinyl cutting. In addition, his years of pre-press and design background add to the class experience. Outside of the classroom, Sean is the manager of the Richmond Adobe User Group (RAUG).
Alex Hearnz
Flex Instructor - Richmond
Alex is our guest instructor based in Florida; he is an Adobe Certified Instructor in Flash CS3 and Flex 3.
Chris Hale
InDesign Instructor - Richmond
For more than 10 years, Chris has been working as a desktop publisher. During that time, he also earned an MA in literature and completed all coursework for the PhD—before deciding to take a full-time job as a technical writer. For two years, he authored or co-authored “courseware” for the entire Adobe Creative Suite. In addition, he’s been teaching college-level composition and literature since 2000. Along the way, he’s also worked as a copyeditor, an associate magazine editor, and a webmaster.
Dennis MacPherson
Dreamweaver Instructor - Richmond
Mr. MacPherson manages Web development/hosting for the PC Training Corporation in Richmond, Virginia, a company he helped establish in 1992. He holds an MS degree in Systems Analysis from George Washington University and a BS degree in Mathematics from the University of Massachusetts. Since 1982 he has been teaching computer programming languages, software skills and is an Adobe Certified Instructor in Dreamweaver CS4. Dennis specializes in training Macromedia's ColdFusion and Dreamweaver Web development applications. In addition, Mr. MacPherson also teaches Active Server Pages, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, XHTML, XML, and Crystal Reports. Over the years, Mr. MacPherson's clientele has included the College of William and Mary, the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, Dupont, Reynolds Metals, John Tyler Community College, the Virginia Community College System, and numerous small to mid-sized businesses in the Richmond area.
Janet Frick is a Certified Technical Trainer and Adobe Certified Expert in Acrobat, Photoshop and InDesign, a Certified Print Professional, as well as an Adobe Certified Instructor. Janet is one of a special team of 38 consultants who work for Adobe on a part-time basis. Her work can be seen on Adobe’s website for the design center video-workshop highlighting features of Acrobat 9. For nearly twenty years, Janet has supported Adobe applications, with extensive hands-on experience, first as an operator, then as a trainer. She consults with clients and develops efficient production workflows from coast to coast, specializing in the integration of Adobe products and appropriate plug-ins. Janet has been a featured speaker at PDF and InDesign Conferences, the Washington, DC InDesign User Group and X-Mug (Richmond, Virginia’s Macintosh User Group) plus numerous other events, demonstrating Adobe application features and best practices. Janet also writes and tech-edits online training courses and documentation for graphic and prepress workflows, and is often a contributor to industry publications.
Kevin Siegel
Captivate Instructor - Richmond
Kevin has more than 19 years experience as a desktop publisher and technical writer. In 1992 he formed IconLogic, through which he has published more than 130 computer-related training manuals. Kevin, who has been a software instructor for more than nine years, trains for dozens of companies across the country and is a frequent speaker at trade shows and conventions. Kevin is an Adobe Certified Instructor in Captivate 3.
Lou Barber
Flash CS4 Instructor - Richmond
Lou Barber is manager and founder of FDUG (Flash Development User Group, www.fdug.org) in Richmond, VA. He started this group with the intent to educate, communicate and network Flash Designers and Developers. Lou, a Certified Adobe Instructor in Flash CS4, has been teaching with Techead since 2003 and enjoys teaching and sharing his knowledge of Flash to anyone willing to learn. Lou's technical ability includes many different skills such as, Server Administration, Graphic Design, and Programming, but his true love is Flash. His history with Flash began with Flash 3 and he has since earned a developer certification in Flash 5, Flash MX and Flash MX 2004. Lou is also co-author of "Flash 8 Unleased". He is also Owner/Creative Director of, Silhouette Multimedia, LLC, a company specializing in Flash Web Development and Flash Applications. He has been the driving force behind some very impressive and unique web sites and continues to introduce the advantages and strengths of Flash to prospective clients.
