At TECHEAD we believe in hands-on, instructor-led training. The individuals who lead our classes combine enthusiasm and experience to create a great learning environment.
Sean Cooke – Adobe Creative Suite®
As an Adobe Design Master, Sean Cooke carries the most Adobe instructor certifications in Virginia; furthermore, he ranks within the top 20 most certified instructors nationwide. Also, he has held the rank of #3 Adobe Instructor worldwide. Sean is an Adobe Certified Instructor in Adobe Acrobat 9, Adobe Flash Catalyst CS5 Adobe Illustrator CS5, Adobe Photoshop CS5, and Adobe InDesign CS5, with an in-depth knowledge of Adobe InCopy CS5, Adobe Flash CS5 and Adobe Dreamweaver CS5. He has worked in all aspects of printing, from commercial offset and screen printing to wide-format digital and vinyl cutting. In addition, his years of pre-press and design background add to the class experience. Outside of the classroom, Sean is the manager of the Richmond Adobe User Group (RAUG).
Dennis MacPherson – HTML5/XHTML, CSS, Adobe Dreamweaver®, Responsive Web, jQuery
Alex Hearnz – Adobe Flex®, Adobe ColdFusion®
Alex Hearnz is an independent agent performing training, development and consulting on various development platforms including ADOBE, Microsoft and Sun. He is a systems architect, designer, developer and trainer with over 20 years of leading edge Information Technology experience. He is a Microsoft Certified Systems Designer and Trainer, a ADOBE Flash MX Certified Developer and Instructor, a Certified Advanced ADOBE ColdFusion Trainer and Developer, and a Sun JAVA2 Certified Developer. Alex specializes in assisting organizations optimize their web development efforts using various tools including Dreamweaver, Flash, ColdFusion and JRun by providing hands on training, consulting and development assistance.
Lou Barber- Adobe Flash® CS5
Lou Barber is manager and founder of FDUG (Flash Development User Group, www.fdug.org) in Richmond, VA. He started this group with the intent to educate, communicate and network Flash Designers and Developers. Lou, a Certified Adobe Instructor in Flash CS4, has been teaching with Techead since 2003 and enjoys teaching and sharing his knowledge of Flash to anyone willing to learn. Lou’s technical ability includes many different skills such as, Server Administration, Graphic Design, and Programming, but his true love is Flash. His history with Flash began with Flash 3 and he has since earned a developer certification in Flash 5, Flash MX and Flash MX 2004. Lou is also co-author of “Flash 8 Unleased”. He is also Owner/Creative Director of, Silhouette Multimedia, LLC, a company specializing in Flash Web Development and Flash Applications. He has been the driving force behind some very impressive and unique web sites and continues to introduce the advantages and strengths of Flash to prospective clients.
Kevin Siegel – Adobe Captivate®
Kevin Siegel is a TECHEAD instructor who has written more than 100 step-by-step computer training books on numerous software titles, including: Adobe Captivate, Adobe RoboHelp, Techsmith Camtasia, Macromedia Captivate, RoboDemo, Adobe Dreamweaver, QuarkXPress, Adobe InDesign, PageMaker, and many more.Kevin spent five years in the U.S. Coast Guard as an award-winning photojournalist and has more than 24-years’ experience as a print publisher and technical writer. He is a certified technical trainer, has been a classroom instructor for more than 18 years and is a frequent speaker at trade shows and conventions. Kevin has been recognized by Adobe Systems, Inc., as one of the Top Five Most Highly-Rated Adobe Certified Instructors Worldwide.
Sheila Weisensale – Microsoft Office® Suite
Mrs. Weisensale received her BS in Mechanical Engineering from Tennessee Tech University, began her career as a Systems Engineer, and later moved into the computer software training and documentation fields which became her passion. She has worked in the IT arena for over 25 years with over 20 of those years being in Technical Training. Currently, Sheila primarily trains users on the Microsoft Office suite of products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook and is Microsoft certified. When Sheila was asked what she likes most about being an instructor, she answered, “Seeing the light bulb go on in a student’s eyes”!
Casey Quinlan – Social Media
Casey Quinlan, the Mighty Mouth of Mighty Casey Media, has been on the internet since before it got that name. As a field producer in network news, she shared story elements and scripts electronically starting in the mid-1980s, chatting electronically with colleagues around the world about upcoming news feeds. She joined Friendster in 2002, LinkedIn in 2003, Facebook in 2006, and Twitter in 2008; she started blogging in the late ‘90s, and hasn’t stopped since. She has joined and used every significant social media platform launched in the last decade, and advised clients on which of those platforms would be most useful for spreading their messages. A recognized leader in healthcare social media who speaks to audiences of clinicians and patients about using the web to drive healthier lives and healthier communities, Casey has become a sought-after voice on how highly-regulated industries – health care, finance, law – can take advantage of social media.
After getting a breast cancer diagnosis just days before Christmas in 2007, she wrote Cancer for Christmas: Making the Most of a Daunting Gift, which tells her story of managing medical treatment and exhorts everyone to become their own patient advocate. The book became a best-seller in October 2009, driven almost entirely by a social media campaign. Major media experience, combined with her strong storytelling skills and her early-adopter knowledge of the ever-evolving world of social media, make Casey Quinlan a voice of authority on how to effectively build, deploy, and manage messages online.
Barbara Binder – Adobe Acrobat X, Adobe FrameMaker, Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop
Barbara Binder started in the publishing field in 1986 with PageMaker’s first release for Windows. She has been delivering corporate training as a free-lance instructor since 1987, mostly in the Washington, D.C area. In 2005, she moved to the foothills west of Denver to escape the congestion and the craziness of life “inside the Beltway.”
In addition to being the owner of Rocky Mountain Training near Denver, Colorado, Barb is an Adobe Certified Instructor (ACI) on Adobe FrameMaker, InDesign, InCopy, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, and the new Digital Publishing Suite (DPS). As an ACI with more than 25 years of classroom experience, she is ready to deliver the training needed to help you improve your publishing workflow. Barbara was recognized by Adobe Systems, Inc., as one of the Top Five Most Highly-Rated Adobe Certified Instructors, Worldwide.
Jennie Ruby – Writing and Grammar
Jennie Ruby is the author of Editing with Word 2007. Jennie specializes in electronic editing. At the American Psychological Association, she was manager of electronic publishing and manager of technical editing and journal production. Jennie has an M.A. from George Washington University and is a Certified Technical Trainer (Chauncey Group). She is a publishing professional with 20 years of experience in writing, editing and desktop publishing.
A.J. George – Powerpoint
AJ George is author of both “PowerPoint 2007: The Essentials” and “PowerPoint 2008 for the Macintosh: The Essentials.” AJ made her own interdisciplinary studies major, focusing on writing and art. Her combined expertise in PowerPoint, graphic design, and writing allows her to bring a unique skillset to the eLearning community.
Matt Sullivan – Adobe Creative Suite
Matt Sullivan runs online and in-person training in both public enrollment and private settings. With current certifications in most Adobe CS, eLearning and Technical Communication Suite products, he brings valuable best practices and integration concepts into every engagement.
