The Ribbon has replaced the menus and toolbars in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and groups items according to context and usage. Explore the new features in Microsoft Office 2010 and learn how tools have been upgraded to enhance user productivity and create captivating projects using Microsoft Office Suite.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite 2007

  • Work with the Office 2010 User interface
  • Work with 97-2003, 2007 and 2010 file formats

Lesson 2: Introduction to the Office 2010 User Interface

  • Tour the Office 2010 Window
  • Work with the Microsoft Office Backstage View (File tab)
  • Work with Quick Access Toolbar
  • Interface with Ribbon and its main components—tabs, groups, and commands
  • Use view controls
  • Use Help button to access program specific-help
  • Practice using the new user interface

Lesson 3: Office 2010 File Formats

  • Compare Office 97-2003 and 2010 file formats
  • Compare Office 2007 and 2010 file formats
  • Discuss the MS Compatibility Pack
  • Save a copy of a 2010 file as a 97-2003 file format
  • Open a 97-2003 file format in 2010 (Compatibility Mode)
  • Convert a 97-2003 file format to a 2010 file format
