Job Description:
Techead has teamed up with a well-established government-integrated client who is in search of a highly-skilled, System Test and Integration Engineer to perform technical support tasks in electronics and/or engineering operations for their Navigation System.

Systems Test & Integration Engineer
100% onsite in Virginia Beach, VA
Active Secret clearance required

Position responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Inertial Navigation system experience, operating/maintaining.
- Serves as the technical representative of government customers to support building systems, equipment testing, interpreting, and evaluating data (to include higher level mathematical equations and analysis).
- Recommend best practices and develop solutions to challenging technical problems.
- Review technical and design documentation and support engineers in the development of test plans and procedures for equipment/system certifications.
- Prepare status, progress, and final report for Production.
- Build, light off, configure, test, troubleshoot, repair, and operate systems and peripheral equipment in support of the project.
- Provide technical strengths and capabilities to the organization in support of business and proposal development.
- Train and oversee/direct work of field representatives, and technicians in support of the project.
- Supervise the fabrication, testing, troubleshooting, repair, and modification of electronic and production equipment parts, components, and systems in a laboratory environment using technical and engineering documentation as required including technical manuals, isometric and production drawings.
Candidates must possess the following knowledge, skills, and experience:
- Associate’s Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology; OR technical or military training with electronics, electronic equipment, inertial navigation, or systems engineering.
- Ten (10)+ years of experience performing work in support of operation and systems analysis of government or commercial electronic systems or inertial navigation equipment, including equipment testing, and interpreting and evaluating field data.
- Eight (8)+ years of hands-on experience with US Navy Navigation equipment and systems, including three (3) of the following four (4) areas:
- Systems Requirements
- Operational Requirements
- Test & Evaluation
- Training
- Linux certification or experience desired.
- Microsoft Office suite experience and project use are a plus.
- Shipboard fire control / ships control operation / understanding a plus.
Candidate must have the following:

- Possess and apply expertise on multiple complex work assignments. Assignments may be broad in nature, requiring originality and innovation in determining how to accomplish tasks.
- Operate with appreciable latitude in developing methodology and presenting solutions to problems.
- Contribute to deliverables and performance metrics where applicable.
- Strong communication skills, interpersonal, teamwork, and independent problem-solving skills.
- Should have executive-level writing and briefing skills.
- Excellent research and statistical analysis skills.
- Read and interpret documents such as schematics, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and safety rules.
- Write routine reports, operating instructions, and correspondence.
- Apply mathematical skills to concepts applicable to electronics, including Ohm’s law, Kirchhoff’s law, SI and Metric units, and fundamentals of geometry and trigonometry.
- Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
