Summary:
Responsible for leading multiple medium to large scale projects of varying complexities from inception to closure, documenting and maintaining project budgets and timelines. Ensuring project results meet agreed upon scope, budget, schedule, and quality. Additional responsibilities may include coordination with vendors and performing business analysis. May be responsible for supervising staff.
Responsibilities:
- Leads, plans, coordinates, tracks, and delivers projects of medium to high complexity utilizing enterprise established project methodology/framework and processes.
- Leads the project team and manages performance, identifies resourcing needs, and facilitates communication to ensure understanding of objectives and assignments and determine progress. Controls the flow of project related information.
- Develops and maintains various plans connected to the project and schedules. Identifies, monitors, and facilitates resolution of project issues. Proactively identify, manage, and facilitate resolution of project risks.
- Interact with business department stakeholders to understand business requirements, propose solutions, and maintain positive relationships. Participates in section level leadership team meetings and project decision-making.
- Documents, reviews, and implements project change requests.
- Documents project scope, deliverables, and implementation approach. Manages all project artifacts/documentation.
- Oversee the creation and execution of test plans.
- Cooperates with vendors to implement new applications, software, and other features. Negotiates statements of work and service contracts.
- Performs related work as required.
Management Responsibilities:
- Work requires providing guidance and the potential to oversee another employee. This position may oversee work quality, training, instructing, and work assignments.
Fiscal Responsibility:
This section describes the accountability and participation if any, as it relates to the fiscal accountability within department or assigned area(s) of responsibility.
- Position has moderate fiscal responsibility. Is responsible for the proposed program or section financial actions and budget request. May monitor program level budget and expenditures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- Five (5) to seven (7) years of experience in IT project management
- Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities
Certifications:
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Required
Job Duties:
- Project management methodologies
- Principles and practices of business analysis
- Principles of business process management
- System life cycles and system development Skill in:
- Interpersonal skills necessary to develop and maintain effective and appropriate working relationships
- Performing a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature
- Provides Leadership, Customer Service and Negotiation
- Analytical and logical approach to problem solving
- Use of Microsoft Project or other project management tools Ability to:
- Meet schedules and deadlines of the work
- Maintain the confidentiality of information and professional boundaries
- Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Identify risk and issues and establish mitigation strategies
- Ability to effectively manage high stress scenarios
- Articulate technical language into supporting documentation
