Job Description:

SATCOM Planner

Job Summary:

Provide SATCOM planning support for C5I fleet operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft, review, and submit Satellite and Gateway Access Requests.
  • Review and update CTF-80 communications plans.
  • Provide SATCOM operational planning support to cross-organizational working groups.
  • Identify, track, and analyze service advisories, outages, casualty reports, and provide communications impact statements.
  • Identify, track, and analyze shore SATCOM facility casualties and maintenance requirements.
  • Participate in planning and oversight of planned satellite and ground terminal outages.
  • Develop mitigation plans for assured C2 operations.
  • Coordinate with the Navy’s SDB Manager for current SATCOM requirements.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering (or additional 4 years of experience in lieu of).

Experience:

  • 10 years of communications planning related experience, with at least 8 years of SATCOM planning experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Joint Integrated SATCOM Toolkit.
  • In-depth knowledge of military Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations planning.
  • Experience in planning for complex spectrum requirements in support of Satellite Communications, including AN/WSC9, AN/USC69s, and legacy AN/WSC 6 systems.

Security Clearance:

  • Must have an active secret clearance.

Travel Requirements:

  • Must possess and maintain a valid passport for possible foreign travel.
