Job Description:
As the Program Manager, you’ll oversee the successful execution of submarine projects in Portsmouth, VA. Reporting to the SR VP of Modernization, you’ll be responsible for ensuring projects meet quality, safety, cost, schedule, and performance standards. You’ll manage contractual and financial aspects, allowing Project Managers to focus on day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Management: Lead program reviews, develop new business, and monitor adherence to master plans.
- Financial Oversight: Track project financials, develop corrective actions, and review Condition Reports.
- Team Leadership: Supervise Project Managers, oversee program execution, and ensure timely delivery of deliverables.
- Customer Relations: Serve as the primary customer contact, manage relationships, and resolve issues.
- Technical Expertise: Understand submarine systems, interpret specifications, and coordinate project phases.
- Team Management: Plan, coordinate, and direct production activities, ensuring appropriate staffing and resource allocation.
- Compliance: Adhere to SUBSAFE and NAVSEA regulations and standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical or electrical engineering
- 8+ years of experience managing submarine HM&E projects
- Strong knowledge of SUBSAFE, Level 1, and NAVSEA testing requirements
- Experience reading technical drawings and manuals
- Understanding of contract terms and conditions
- Active DoD Secret Security Clearance
