Job Description:
EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Contract (6-month renewal term, 40 hours per week, excluding state-observed holidays)
WORK ARRANGEMENT: Primarily remote, with occasional travel required for conferences, regional gatherings, training sessions, and in-person meetings at the Richmond, Virginia office.
ROLE OVERVIEW:
We are looking for a Junior Information Systems Analyst to evaluate, document, and refine business processes related to digital record systems. Responsibilities include diagnosing technical issues with imaging devices (scanners, printers), offering daily remote support to court staff, and providing ongoing training on imaging tools both virtually and in person.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Analyze and document system requirements and workflows for existing and new digital record platforms

Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve common hardware and software issues related to imaging technologies

Provide responsive support via phone and email to court personnel

Develop and deliver user training sessions, both remotely and on-site

Maintain comprehensive system documentation and business process models

Collaborate with the Advisory Committee and state agencies to ensure seamless system integration
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
-
Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Systems Analyst or in a similar business analysis role

Skilled in gathering, analyzing, and documenting functional and technical requirements
-
Strong ability to translate business needs into detailed technical specifications
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-
Proficient in creating process maps, data flow diagrams, and related documentation

Comfortable engaging with both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders
-
Capable of analyzing complex systems to identify optimization opportunities
-
Experience working alongside project managers and development teams
-
Familiarity with business analysis tools (e.g., Microsoft Visio, Lucidchart)
-
Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
-
2+ years in a business analysis role, preferably in IT-related projects
-
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, Criminal Justice, Public Administration, or related fields
-
Demonstrated success in documenting and analyzing intricate business processes
-
Understanding of software development methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.)
-
Proficiency in drafting detailed documentation and technical reports
-
Experience with stakeholder engagement techniques such as interviews and workshops
-
Knowledge of quality assurance and change management practices
-
Familiarity with relational databases and basic SQL query writing
-
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
-
Experience with collaboration and project management tools

Previous exposure to Virginia court systems and relevant training programs
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
-
Remote Work: Predominantly telework-based with occasional in-person obligations. Telework eligibility and schedules are determined by the supervising manager.

Equipment: When on-site, necessary equipment will be provided. For remote work, a personal computer (Windows 7 or newer), webcam, and audio setup are required unless an organizational laptop is issued.

Physical Demands: Must be able to sit for extended periods and operate computer equipment.

Travel: Occasional in-state travel as needed for business purposes.
