We are seeking a Desktop Support Specialist to join a team working on a Windows 11 Upgrade Project. This role will involve migrating from Microsoft Windows 10 and 32-bit Office 365 to Windows 11 and 64-bit Office 365. The selected candidate will be responsible for upgrading and re-imaging workstations, installing and configuring Office 365, and supporting other related software installations. Additionally, the specialist will track and report on deployment status and troubleshoot any issues that arise during the upgrade process.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills and provide excellent customer service, working directly with end users and collaborating with technical and project teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform workstation upgrades and re-imaging to Windows 11.
- Install and configure Office 365 (64-bit) and other related software.
- Serve as a point of contact for deployment status tracking and reporting.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues during the upgrade process.
- Communicate effectively with end users, technical staff, and senior leadership.
- Provide exceptional customer service by assisting users throughout the upgrade process.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Windows 10 and Windows 11 operating systems (4+ years)
- Help Desk/Technical Support experience (4+ years in a full-time role)
- Endpoint Management Systems (4+ years)
- Workstation Imaging Solutions (4+ years)
- Service Management Ticketing Systems (4+ years)
- Microsoft Office 365 (4+ years)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal direction, as well as in a team environment
- Experience providing exceptional customer service to end users
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Experience with PowerShell scripting and/or SQL reporting
- Familiarity with Symantec Altiris and/or Microsoft InTune
- Experience using Ivanti Service Desk
- Knowledge of the Microsoft Deployment Toolkit
- Active Directory experience
