Job Description:

Cyber Mission Analyst – Base Level AFIN Defense

Role: Defend United States Air Force (USAF) infrastructure (AFIN) at the base level from cyber threats by performing in-depth analysis, coordination, and proactive defense measures.

Responsibilities:

• Threat Analysis & Monitoring: Identify, analyze, and monitor cyber threats to USAF base infrastructure.
• Cyber Mission Coordination: Coordinate cyberspace orders across missions and integrate cyber intelligence.
• Mission Support & Threat Notification: Provide timely threat notifications to USAF mission and weapon systems.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cyber, intelligence, engineering, logistics, and maintenance teams to ensure persistent cyber defense.
• DoD Mission Assurance: Apply understanding of DoD mission assurance concepts to USAF operations.
• Mission Relevant Terrain Cyber (MRT-C) Analysis: Investigate network activities to determine MRT-C support, develop mitigation strategies, and create display solutions.
• Trend Analysis & Requirement Definition: Identify and analyze trends to define MRT-C requirements.
• FMA-C Support: Assist with Force Mission Assurance-Cyber (FMA-C) activities, including defense plan development.
• Database & Monitoring System Management: Establish and maintain databases and monitoring systems.
• Secure Network Utilization: Utilize classified and unclassified networks for support and information distribution.
• Policy & Procedure Review: Review and recommend improvements to policies, procedures, and organizational design.
• Incident Response & Reporting: Resolve cyber events and incidents, provide recommendations, and document and escalate incidents as needed.
• Vulnerability Assessment: Define and conduct vulnerability assessments.
• Data Analysis & Correlation: Perform research, analysis, and correlation across diverse data sets.
• Enterprise-Wide Coordination: Coordinate with enterprise-wide cyber defense staff.
• Trend Analysis & Reporting: Perform cyber defense trend analysis and generate comprehensive reports.
• Situational Awareness: Perform event correlation to achieve enhanced situational awareness.
• Network Alert Analysis: Analyze network alerts to determine root causes.

Qualifications:

• • Clearance: Active Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information System Engineering, Business, or a related technical discipline in cybersecurity or information technology.
  • Certifications:
    • CompTIA Security+ Level II Certification.
    • One of the following: CCSP, Cloud+, CySA+, or GICSP.
  • Experience: Minimum three (3) years of experience in cyberspace analysis, IT cybersecurity, IT security, and telecommunications principles.
