About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Information Assurance/Cybersecurity Specialist to manage and oversee all aspects of our customer organization’s Information Assurance (IA) program. This role is critical for maintaining compliance across various security classifications, including Secret, Top Secret (TS), TS/SCI, and SAP environments. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and enforcing DoD and Air Force cybersecurity policies to protect sensitive information systems.
�� Key Responsibilities
Program Management & Compliance

IA Program Oversight: Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive organizational Information Assurance (IA) program, clearly defining requirements, personnel roles, processes, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Policy Implementation: Interpret and rigorously enforce all applicable Air Force and DoD IA policies, directives, and procedures, utilizing specialized IA guidance.

Security Documentation (A&A): Develop, maintain, and manage complete Authorization and Accreditation (A&A) documentation packages for all organization-specific systems connected to the Hanscom Network.

System Lifecycle Management: Ensure all IT assets are operated, used, maintained, and disposed of according to their established security A&A documentation, as prescribed by AFI 17-101.

Configuration Management (CM): Implement and ensure adherence to proper Configuration Management (CM) procedures, coordinating all hardware, software, or firmware changes with the installation WCSO and system-level ISSM/ISSO prior to implementation.
User Management & Training

Access Control: Validate and ensure all users possess the necessary security clearances, supervisory need-to-know authorizations, and complete their mandatory IA training prior to granting access to Air Force information systems (in accordance with AFSSI 8522).

Training & Awareness: Manage and track annual IA refresher training to ensure all system users remain compliant with current security awareness requirements.
Incident Response & Reporting

Vulnerability Management: Proactively identify and report all IA incidents or system vulnerabilities to the installation WCSO promptly.

Cross-Functional Support: Collaborate dynamically with technical teams and personnel on various projects, facilitating technical interchanges to resolve security issues and integrate IA requirements.
Supporting Duties

Property Assistance: Assist with IT Property Custodian duties and inventory management as required.
✅ Required Qualifications
Experience & Education
-
Experience: A minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience in Cybersecurity or Information Assurance practices within the DoD or other Federal agencies.

Note: An additional 4 years of relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirement.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or an equivalent technical field.
Technical Skills & Security
-
DoD/AF Knowledge: Strong, demonstrated knowledge of current Air Force, DoD, and applicable Federal Cybersecurity Directives and Instructions (e.g., AFIs, DoDI 8500.01, etc.).

Clearance: Must possess an active Secret security clearance.
