Job Description:
OnBase System Administrator

~ Hybrid in Charlotte, NC

~ 1-2 year contract with potential to convert

Permanent residents only, C2C is not considered.

The OnBase Administrator is a contractor position with the City of Charlotte in the Innovation and

Technology Department. It provides operational process, application, and end-user support for OnBase,

a content management application. This work is accomplished by performing functional configuration

and application lifecycle management, project management, business process/practice development,

problem resolution, training, and customer reporting. Other duties include management vendor

relations, system upgrades, server maintenance, and integrations.

Essential job functions include:

• Responsible for application technical configuration and maintenance for patches, upgrades, and

enhancements to the OnBase environment. Work includes moving from on-prem to SaaS and

integration with Workday as part of the City’s ERP Transformation Program. Therefore, some of the

responsibilities below will change when the city moves to SaaS.

• Assist in gathering and documenting requirements as related to business processes or changes in the

business environment

• Perform maintenance of the OnBase system, including nightly backups, usage monitoring, scheduled

task validation, and keeping the system current with security releases and system upgrades

• Manage OnBase environments (Development, Test, and Production) for departments ensuring

replication occurs as necessary

• Review system configuration changes in the production environment to ensure standards are


• Promote OnBase changes to the production environment and maintain consistency in schedules for


• Manage core role-based Active Directory groups and grant application rights

• Make recommendations for sizing of infrastructure

• Troubleshoot and resolve any application issues in partnership with managed services support and

departmental administrators

• Coordinate and assist with regression testing

• Maintain baseline regression test scripts

• Maintain enterprise technical documentation

• Assist with and provide technical training to departmental administrators
