Job Description:

Senior Project Manager | 18868

Responsibilities:

  • Lead large IT, complex programs composed of multiple projects.
  • Provide execution and delivers quality oversight for all projects to ensure that delivered scope, time, and budget effectively meet business objectives.
  • Facilitate and coordinate multi-functional teams (e.g., IT, business, strategic partner, etc.) utilizing both internal and external resources.
  • Leverage experience with large, complex programs and projects to enhance the delivery capabilities of IT Project Managers.
  • Develop and deploy all project management standards and tool kits
  • Provide input to project teams on best practices for scope, schedule, time and quality management
  • Develop the enterprise PMO standards by sharing expertise, lessons learned, and leading virtual learning sessions as part of focused process and people development efforts
  • Responsible for the budget and performance management measurements for all assigned projects and the establishment of improvement or recovery plans if targets are at risk
  • Provide project reviews to ensure services provided and improvement plans established that are in alignment schedule, quality of deliverables, project budgets and with customer expectations
  • Communicate, through action, a clear vision of project charter, goals and objectives and gathers and incorporates feedback from the assigned functions and vendors to ensure a clear understanding of expectations is achieved
  • Directly responsible to manage project team to ensure their requirements are met and addresses escalations in accordance with the process of record
  • Responds effectively to internal and external audit reports and recommendations and works with the audit team to define specific measurable requirements and determination of level of effort to execute audit requirements.
  • Understands and meets financial, performance, time reporting and productivity reporting objectives for all projects
  • Effectively utilizes functional/managerial/operational systems

    Collaborate to identify and provide solutions to process changes working with process owners and steward to provide input and review of standard operating procedure modification and project standards creation
  • Participates daily in the projects to ensure standards are achieved and measurements are within prescribed deliverables, schedule and budgets
  • Problem areas are identified, corrective action taken, and root causes are determined to eliminate future issues
  • Proactively manage project’s expense and capital budgets
  • Participate in audit, attestation and risk assessment processes
  • Develops peer, cross-functional and cross-business relationships to maximize best practice sharing and team effectiveness.
  • Proven experience managing large, complex financial services/insurance/mortgage related software application implementations
  • In-depth experienced managing stakeholder teams from diverse professional backgrounds, across multiple functions
  • Advanced user in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, SharePoint,)
  • Excellent knowledge of current and future technologies and trends impacting the financial service/insurance/mortgage industry is preferred.
  • Strong process management & project management skill
  • Ability to be a strong advocate for process and technology improvement and ensure the application of measurements to reflect the baseline improvements

Requirements:

  • 5+ years IT industry experience or equivalent technical experience (e.g. financial services, engineering,)
  • 5+ years of project management experience
  • PMP is required
  • Proven experience with multiple project management methods and approaches (e.g., PMBOK, Agile, Waterfall, etc.) with the ability to determine most applicable method based upon project objectives and constraints
  • Can multi-task and manage several projects and responsibilities concurrently
  • Excellent people, process, communication, facilitation and interpersonal skills
  • Able to identify/assess business needs, to analyze and solve problems in a service driven organization 

Education:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline
