Job Description:
As a Cybersecurity & Network Support Specialist, you’ll play a vital role in safeguarding our information systems and ensuring seamless network operations. You’ll be proactive in maintaining our security posture, enforcing cybersecurity protocols, and providing comprehensive IT support across our organization.
Responsibilities:
- Security Maintenance & Enforcement: Maintain operational security, proactively address vulnerabilities, and enforce Air Force cybersecurity policies and procedures.
- Cybersecurity Program Support: Contribute to the development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of our cybersecurity program.
- Compliance & Validation: Ensure adherence to cybersecurity publications (e.g., COMSEC, COMPUSEC, TEMPEST) and validate compliance.
- User Security & Access: Verify cybersecurity training completion before granting system access, report security incidents, and manage configuration changes with the cybersecurity office.
- Asset Management: Document, operate, maintain, and securely dispose of IT assets according to security guidelines.
- Incident Response & Remediation: Initiate protective measures for security incidents and manage requests for cybersecurity requirement exceptions.
- Network Access Management: Maintain accurate records of authorized user network access in compliance with cybersecurity publications.
- IT Planning & Strategy: Contribute to future financial planning, system upgrades, and strategic roadmaps for information systems.
- LAN, PC & Cellular Support: Provide comprehensive support, including network management, hardware maintenance, cellular administration, and network analysis.
- Desktop Support & On-Call Availability: Assist with desktop purchasing and provide critical 24/7 on-call LAN support with a 2-hour response time.
- Project Support & Documentation: Support long-term IT projects and develop service level agreements and operating instructions.
- Data Analysis & Technical Support: Provide analytical and technical support to identify data origins and users for new capabilities.
- Requirements & Implementation: Assess capability needs and gaps, facilitating the deployment of solutions across ACC.
- Information Flow Assurance: Deliver technical support to ensure the timely and accurate flow of information to end users.
- Network Configuration & Troubleshooting: Configure network parameters for new locations and resolve connectivity issues efficiently.
- Resource Optimization: Recommend cost-effective hardware and software solutions leveraging existing resources.
- Web & System Support: Provide technical support for information dissemination and retrieval systems (web, file, cellular, print).
- License & Equipment Coordination: Collaborate with the SW License Manager and Equipment Custodian to meet deadlines with minimal disruption.
- Sensitive Information Security: Support TS/SCI/SAP Information System Security Programs, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of sensitive data.
- Security Guidance & Interpretation: Interpret and apply information systems security principles, regulations, and standards, providing guidance to staff.
Requirements:
- Active Secret DOD Clearance with the ability to upgrade to TS/SCI/SAP.
- One year of network administration experience on SuSE or Red Hat Linux systems.
- Linux certification (nationally recognized provider) within 90 days of hire.
- Active CompTIA Security+ certification (required).
- Experience with Windows 10 Desktop Operating Systems.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products (O365/2016), including Teams, Skype for Business, and Outlook.
- Proven ability to resolve issues quickly and efficiently to meet performance metrics.
- Proficient with computer, network, and server hardware.
