Job Description:
Hybrid – 1 week onsite, 1 week off | Richmond, VA locals only
Long-term contract role (12 months+)
Techead is currently seeking a skilled Senior Business Systems Analyst for a contract opportunity focused on supporting systems within the Accounting and Finance domains. The selected individual will play a key role in both project and maintenance activities related to the SAP Financial (FI) and Project Systems (PS) modules, with occasional support for Commercial Project Management (CPM) functions.
In this role, the analyst will contribute to both capital and operational initiatives. Responsibilities include gathering and documenting business requirements, preparing functional specifications, developing and executing detailed test plans, and supporting deployment activities. The work will focus heavily on enhancements and support requests related to SAP financial and project modules.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze and resolve complex system challenges by aligning technology solutions with business goals.
- Collaborate with internal teams to interpret business needs and translate them into technical solutions.
- Assist in developing system roadmaps and ensuring technology aligns with long-term strategies.
- Conduct process analysis, needs assessments, and benefit-cost evaluations.
- Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders and IT, facilitating effective communication and solution delivery.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced analysts.
- Participate in or lead multi-project assignments, engaging with cross-functional teams across the organization.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a business or functional analyst role.
- Proven ability to create process maps and gather business requirements, especially in finance and accounting domains.
- Demonstrated expertise in writing test scripts and technical documentation for development teams.
- Experience supporting both capital projects and operational enhancements.
- Proficiency in supporting SAP systems, particularly in the FI and PS modules, including configuration and customization.
- Ability to handle support tickets, document work requests, and track issues through tools such as Quality Center.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with SAP Commercial Project Management (CPM) module.
- SAP certification in Project Systems and/or CPM.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities are highly valued.
