Job Description:
SR Linux SME
We’re looking for a Senior Linux Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our team. In this role, you’ll leverage your deep expertise in Linux environments, particularly within Department of Defense (DoD) contexts, to design, implement, and maintain critical systems. You’ll play a key part in defining data strategies and architectures, while also mentoring staff and contributing to the delivery of innovative simulation services.
Requirements
- Clearance: TS/SCI clearance is required.
- Certifications (IAT Level II):
- One of the following:
- Security+ CE
- GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC)
- Security Certified Network Professional (SCNP)
- System Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)
- And one of the following:
- RHCSA Red Hat Certified System Administrator (preferred)
- RHCDS Red Hat Certified Data Center Specialist (preferred)
- And a functional area certification (required prior to start date).
- One of the following:
Required Skills
- Experience:
- A Bachelor’s degree and/or 8 years of experience in data design, with a focus on defining data strategy and architectures in a consulting or internal role. This includes developing and mentoring staff at all levels to build and deliver high-quality, innovative simulation services.
- At least 5 years of experience related to DoD major systems or programs.
- Linux Expertise:
- Strong knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments, including Ansible and Satellite architecture.
- Experience with Linux servers in a virtual environment, preferably vSphere.
- Knowledge of STIG checklists and SCAP scanning tools, and an understanding of DoD vulnerability mitigations with Red Hat servers.
- Automation & Scripting:
- Knowledge in scripting, with a preference for automation using Bash and YAML Ansible playbooks.
- Familiarity with GitLab/GitHub is a plus.
- Experience with Terraform and containers is a plus.
- Networking: General understanding of networking concepts and troubleshooting network communications.
- Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting capabilities and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively on large team projects.
