Business Process Analyst (BPA), Jo
Location: Virginia Beach, VA (100% On-Site)
Clearance: Top Secret (with SCI eligibility)
The Mission
Join a vital Knowledge Management (KM) office supporting USSOCOM operations in Virginia Beach. As a Journeyman Business Process Analyst (BPA), you will play a crucial role in enhancing operational efficiency by deeply analyzing, documenting, and improving core business processes. Working as part of an Agile team in an Azure DevOps environment, your efforts will directly translate business needs into actionable insights, driving more effective decision-making across the organization.
You will report to the Senior Analyst and Site Lead.
Key Responsibilities
As a BPA, you will be the bridge between technical teams and operational stakeholders. Your primary duties will include:
Process Analysis & Improvement

Analyze and Define: Interface directly with diverse stakeholders to capture, define, and document data requirements, specifications, and use cases.

Identify Inefficiencies: Conduct thorough needs analyses, applying process improvement methodologies (e.g., Agile, Lean, Six Sigma, Business Process Re-engineering) to pinpoint and address organizational bottlenecks.

Scope Management: Collaborate with customers to define clear project scope, objectives, and success criteria for process improvement initiatives.

Documentation & Visualization: Develop industry-standard documentation for business process solutions, including flowcharts, models, and technical/user guides for policies, procedures, and security requirements.
Reporting & Project Oversight

Metrics & Impact: Develop and implement quantitative and qualitative metrics to measure and report on the tangible impact of process improvement initiatives.

Data Translation: Translate defined business needs into concrete analytics and reporting requirements, ensuring the successful delivery of end-user reporting solutions.

Technical Coordination: Coordinate with systems architects and developers, providing critical oversight to ensure design solutions align with documented business and functional requirements.

Communication: Clearly communicate complex information—both orally and in writing—to diverse technical and non-technical audiences using multiple digital platforms.
Required Qualifications
Experience
Candidates must possess at least five (5) years of documented experience in the following areas:

Demonstrated knowledge of various technologies and functionalities used for organizing and managing information (i.e., Knowledge Management).

Expertise in organizational process improvement concepts and established process maturity models.

Proven ability to interface with customers, effectively interpreting and translating their requirements into functional operational capabilities.

Skill in creating detailed business process maps and utilizing other workflow visualization tools.

Experience managing multiple simultaneous projects and analyzing the impacts of completed projects.
Skills & Abilities

Ability to communicate complex information effectively to audiences of varying technical proficiency.

Strong collaborative skills, capable of working seamlessly within a dynamic, fast-paced team environment.

Demonstrated ability to assess and prioritize backlog requirements effectively.
Education & Certifications

Education:
-
High School diploma PLUS five to ten (5-10) years or more of relevant experience. OR
-
Degree in Information Systems or Business Process Engineering PLUS one to two (1-2) years of relevant experience.

Certification: Hold a Lean or Six Sigma Green Belt, AgilePM Foundation, or an equivalent certification.
