Job Description:
Cloud Software Engineer (Full Scope Poly Required)
Cloud Software Engineer requiring an active Full Scope Polygraph clearance and 100% on-site work in Annapolis Junction, Maryland.
This role is focused on the back-end development, maintenance, and enhancement of complex Big Data Cloud systems, leveraging expertise in Distributed Computing, the Hadoop Ecosystem, Information Retrieval (IR), and Object-Oriented Design.
Key Responsibilities

Big Data & Back-End Development: Directly contribute to all stages of back-end processing, analyzing, and indexing for diverse Big Data Cloud systems based on documented requirements.

Cloud Ecosystem Implementation: Provide expertise and hands-on implementation skills in Cloud Computing, Distributed Computing, and the Hadoop Eco-System, including developing Java applications.

Core Cloud Functions:

Implement complex workflows that manage Cloud MapReduce analytics.

Implement code that interacts with Cloud Distributed Coordination Frameworks.

Implement code that interacts with implementations of Cloud Big Table and Cloud Distributed File System.

Information Retrieval (IR): Provide in-depth knowledge of IR, assisting the team in designing, developing, and testing Cloud Information Retrieval solutions.

Systems Input & QA: Provide specific input to system design (hardware/software trade-offs, COTS/GOTS use). Review and test software components for adherence to design requirements, resolve problem reports, and ensure quality control.

Leadership & Process: May oversee one or more software development tasks and make recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards.

| Software Engineering Exp. | Eight (8) years of software engineering experience in similar programs. |
| Cloud/Distributed Exp. | Two (2) years of the experience must be in programs utilizing Big Data Cloud technologies and/or Distributed Computing. |
| Cloud Technical Specs (Required Minimums): |
* 2 Yrs of Cloud and Distributed Computing Information Retrieval (IR). * 1 Yr of code implementation interacting with Cloud Big Table. * 1 Yr of code implementation interacting with Cloud Distributed File System. * 1 Yr of experience with implementing complex MapReduce analytics. * 1 Yr of code implementation interacting with Cloud Distributed Coordination Frameworks. |
Education & Certification

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university.
OR
-
Four (4) years of additional cloud software engineering experience (a total of 12 years) may be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree.

A Master’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline may be substituted for two (2) years of experience.

A Cloudera Certified Hadoop Developer certification may be substituted for one (1) year of Cloud experience.
