Job Description:
Sr Cloud Software Engineer (Full Scope Poly Required)
Expert Cloud Software Engineer requiring an active Full Scope Polygraph clearance, extensive Big Data/Cloud experience, and 100% on-site work in Annapolis Junction, Maryland. This role serves as a subject matter expert and architect for complex, mission-critical Big Data Cloud systems.
Key Responsibilities

Cloud Architecture & Strategy: Architect solutions to complex Cloud Software Engineering Problems, such as efficiently processing and retrieving large amounts of data. Recommend new technologies and processes for complex cloud projects.

Big Data Back-End Development: Directly contributes to all stages of back-end processing, analyzing, and indexing. Provide expertise in Hadoop Eco-System, Distributed Computing, Information Retrieval (IR), and Object-Oriented Design (OOD).

Advanced Implementation & Management:
-
Implement complex workflows that manage Cloud MapReduce analytics.

Implement code interacting with Cloud Big Table and Cloud Distributed File System.

Manage multi-node Cloud based installations and debug problems with Distributed Computing Frameworks.

Technical Leadership: Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), assisting teams in design, development, and testing. Delegate programming and testing responsibilities and monitor performance. Select the software development process in coordination with the customer.

SIGINT Integration: Apply expertise in SIGINT collection discipline areas (FORNSAT, CABLE, Terrestrial/Microwave, Overhead, and ELINT) and related concepts (Geolocation, Emitter ID) to software development.

Security & Compliance: Ensure quality control, make recommendations for improving documentation, and adhere to strict security and compliance requirements (e.g., securing Cloud Based applications through Firewalls, PKI Certificate, and Server Authentication).

| Software Engineering Exp. | Twelve (12) years of SWE experience in similar programs. |
| Cloud/Big Data Exp. | Four (4) years of the experience must be in programs utilizing Big Data Cloud technologies and/or Distributed Computing. |
Specific Technical Requirements

Cloud Core (Required 1+ Year Experience in each):
-
Cloud and/or Distributed Computing Information Retrieval (IR) (2 Yrs).

Implementing code interacting with Cloud Big Table and Cloud Distributed File System.

Implementing complex MapReduce analytics.

Implementing code interacting with Cloud Distributed Coordination Frameworks.
-
Architecting Cloud Computing solutions, debugging Distributed Computing Frameworks, and managing multi-node Cloud installations.

Programming & Frameworks (5 YRS Experience): Java, Object Oriented Design and Programming, Eclipse (or similar IDE), MAVEN, RESTful web services.

Hadoop Ecosystem (5 YRS Experience): Expertise in at least one or a combination of YARN, J2EE, MapReduce, Zookeeper, HDFS, HBase, JMS, Concurrent Programming.

SIGINT Domain (5 YRS Experience): Experience with at least one SIGINT collection discipline and related technical areas (Geolocation, Emitter ID, signal analysis).

Network/OS (5 YRS Experience): UNIX/LINUX/CentOS, Virtualization (VMWare/VirtualBox), Python, CFEngine, Bash, Ruby (for Multi Node Management/Installation), and Configuration Management Tools (Subversion, ClearQuest).

Security (5 YRS Experience): Securing Cloud applications via Firewalls, PKI Certificate, and Server Authentication.
Education & Certification
-
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
OR
-
Four (4) years of additional cloud SWE experience (a total of 16 years) may be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree.

A Master’s degree may substitute for two (2) years of experience.

A Cloudera Certified Hadoop Developer certification may be substituted for one (1) year of Cloud experience.
