Job Description:
Senior Database Administrator (DBA) (Full Scope Poly Required)
Senior Database Administrator (DBA) requiring an active Full Scope Polygraph clearance, and 100% on-site work in Annapolis Junction, Maryland.
This role is critical for ensuring the integrity, security, and high availability of multiple mission-critical database systems, spanning various DBMS platforms, and requires strong expertise in performance tuning, disaster recovery, and policy implementation.
Key Responsibilities

Database Integrity and Security: Administer, maintain, develop, and implement rigorous policies and procedures to ensure the security and integrity of multiple database systems. Establish and manage database user accounts.

Performance and Availability: Perform disaster recovery planning, performance analysis and tuning, and index maintenance. Monitor data and execute database and software lifecycle activities to ensure the highest level of system performance and availability.

DBMS Administration: Provide server and application server administration across a variety of database products, including Oracle, SQL Server, and SYBASE.

Architecture and Optimization: Direct the monitoring, administration, and implementation of database performance optimization efforts, including developing/changing database indices, redesigning database structure, and reloading data. Coordinate database architecture changes with Database Engineers (DBEs).

Data Management: Organize and format data for efficient query and storage processes.

Strategic Evaluation: Evaluate requirements and recommend available Database Management System (DBMS) products, tools, strategies, and technologies.

Installation: Direct the installation of database management systems, databases, tables, and views.

| Experience | Ten (10) years experience as a DBA in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity. |
| Technical Expertise | Proven experience with Oracle, SQL Server, and SYBASE administration. |
Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university.
OR
-
Four (4) years of additional DBA experience (a total of 14 years) may be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree.
