Job Description:
User Experience (UX) Design Engineer Lead (Full Scope Poly Required)
Lead User Experience (UX) Design Engineer requiring an active Full Scope Polygraph clearance, and 100% on-site work in Annapolis Junction, Maryland.
This senior role is responsible for driving the entire user experience lifecycle for critical devices, tools, and systems, ensuring design solutions align with user needs, product strategy, and technical feasibility within an agile environment.
Key Responsibilities

UX Leadership & Strategy: Lead the planning, design, and development activities to create the optimal user experience. Establish interactive conventions and apply visualization/screen design expertise to ensure a successful user experience.

Agile Design Cycle: Operate within an Agile development environment, requiring weekly delivery of User Experience feedback and rapidly prototyping and iterating on design solutions with Product Owners.

Research and Optimization: Conduct User Experience research and optimization activities.

Design Artifact Creation: Create final visual designs, storyboards, interaction flows, interface guidelines, and screen mock-ups using industry tools (e.g., Powerpoint, Visio, Axure).

Full Project Lifecycle Design: Lead the design life cycle, including interviewing customers, clearly articulating requirements to the design team, creating prototypes, presenting designs to customers, and assisting in technical trade-off discussions with development teams and SMEs.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work across diverse teams and communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide inspiration and constructive feedback. Review the final implementation with front-end developers to ensure adherence to design standards.

User-Centered Approach: Take a user-centered approach in crafting design solutions that meet both user needs and product strategy requirements, helping customers imagine new interactive techniques.
Mandatory Requirements

| Security Clearance | Active Top Secret (TS/SCI) with a Full Scope Polygraph (FSP). |
| Location | 100% On-Site in Annapolis Junction, Maryland. |
| UX Design Experience | Ten (10) years experience in User Experience Design. |
| Leadership Experience | Five (5) years experience (within the last 10 years) leading project life cycle design activities. |
| Technical Skills | Three (3) years experience with screen mock-up tools (e.g., Powerpoint, Visio, Axure) and related prototyping tools. |
Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university.
OR
-
Four (4) years of additional User Experience Design experience on projects with similar design (a total of 14 years) may be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree.
