Job Description:
Position Summary
The VTC Operations Specialist is responsible for coordinating, managing, and maintaining video teleconferencing (VTC) and audiovisual (AV) systems to ensure seamless, secure communication across the command. This role supports daily conferencing operations, provides advanced technical troubleshooting, and ensures all systems meet strict DoD and Navy performance and security standards.
Key Responsibilities

Plan, schedule, and facilitate VTC and teleconference sessions, ensuring efficient use of resources and reliable connectivity across multiple communication platforms.

Serve as the primary point of contact for VTC technical issues, providing timely troubleshooting, problem resolution, and coordination with internal and external DoD partners.

Maintain a system readiness rate above 98% through proactive monitoring, maintenance, and adherence to established AV and VTC operational standards.

Manage and support conference room and operations center technology, including setup, configuration, testing, and system optimization for live events and high-level meetings.

Analyze system performance, identify areas for improvement, and recommend hardware or software upgrades to enhance functionality and interoperability.

Monitor daily operations to detect and address technical issues promptly, ensuring minimal disruption to mission-critical communications.

Implement corrective actions and maintain documentation for all maintenance, scheduling, and operational activities.

Ensure all AV and VTC systems comply with internal security protocols and DoD cybersecurity requirements.

Work independently to plan, prioritize, and execute daily duties, escalating complex or sensitive issues as necessary.

Provide professional-level multimedia support, including presentations, live event management, and coordination for senior leadership engagements.
Required Experience
-
In-depth understanding of VTC systems, including scheduling, configuration, and operational management.

Strong knowledge of DoD and Navy communications protocols, standards, and system integration practices.

Hands-on experience operating and maintaining complex AV and conferencing systems in secure environments.

Proven ability to assess, test, and integrate new conferencing technologies or system enhancements.

Experience supporting high-profile, executive-level meetings and events.

Minimum of five (5) years of recent experience managing VTC operations within the Department of Defense.
Education
-
High school diploma or equivalent required.

Background in Information Technology or a related technical field preferred.
Security Clearance
-
Active Secret clearance required.
