Summary:
Investment Accounting is a shared service organization that prepares all US GAAP and U.S. Statutory accounting and reporting for investment portfolios. Partnership with the Finance Teams across all product lines as well as, participate in assisting in the development and execution of Investment strategies.
As a member of the Fixed Income Accounting team, you will hold the primary responsibility for the preparation and review of accounting processes to ensure that the company appropriately records accounting entries and reports accounting results in accordance with US GAAP and US Statutory regulations. Responsibilities will include review of system outputs from the accounting platform, review of account reconciliations, and execution of defined accounting processes.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Evaluate system outputs to ensure appropriate accounting treatment for all Fixed Income investments across multiple accounting basis
• Transaction processing and balance reconciliations.
• Handle preparation of assigned accounting tasks (e.g., Monthly reconciliations, journal entries, income and asset allocation, pricing analytics) and perform all applicable SOX Controls for owned processes
• Support the preparation of internal and external U.S. GAAP and Statutory reporting
• Act as a value-add resource for opportunities, delivering analytical critical thinking, bringing order to unstructured problems, and breaking down complexities into actionable components.
• Proactively anticipate and manage issues and contingency planning.
• Research and review of accounting guidance to assess existing processes – identifying potential efficiencies and/or gaps in current business processes
• Handle preparation of assigned accounting tasks and perform all applicable SOX Controls for owned processes
• Thorough review and assessment of current workflows and identification of opportunities for improvement
QUALIFICATIONS
• At least 5 years accounting or finance experience
• Prior experience with monthly/quarterly accounting close processes
• Collaborative mindset to work across the team to ensure successful execution of deliverables
• Strong communication skills with ability to successfully navigate conflicts
• Ability to prioritize assignments and multi-task to meet critical business timelines
• CPA or other certification(s)
• Bachelor’s degree Accounting, Finance or other business-related discipline
