About the Role
This is a critical leadership role requiring a deep understanding of public sector procurement processes, a proven track record of building high-performing sales teams, and the ability to articulate a unique value proposition within a complex regulatory environment. As a key growth driver, you will be instrumental in developing and executing comprehensive sales strategies to secure new contracts and expand existing relationships.
Key Responsibilities

Drive Strategy: Develop and execute the overarching Public Sector sales strategy to align with business objectives and growth targets.

Capture Market Share: Identify, pursue, and secure large, strategic contracts with Federal, State, and Local government entities, educational institutions, and related Commercial partners.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as the primary liaison between the Public Sector team and internal stakeholders (Product, Engineering, Legal, Operations) to ensure seamless execution of public sector initiatives.

Build Talent: Attract, recruit, and retain top sales talent with proven public sector experience.

Coach & Mentor: Lead, mentor, and motivate a high-performing team of Public Sector Account Executives and Sales Managers.

Manage Performance: Establish clear sales targets and performance metrics while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, procurement officers, and stakeholders across target accounts.

Close Complex Deals: Lead sophisticated sales cycles from initial discovery and needs assessment through proposal development, negotiation, and contract closure.

Market Presence: Represent the company at key industry events, conferences, and trade shows.

Ensure Compliance: Partner closely with legal and compliance teams to ensure all proposals, contracts, and sales activities adhere to strict regulatory requirements.

Data-Driven Management: Leverage CRM (Salesforce) for pipeline management, forecasting, and reporting, ensuring total data accuracy across the team.

Fiscal Oversight: Develop and manage sales forecasts, budgets, and operational plans for the Public Sector division.

Track Trends: Stay abreast of public sector market trends, competitive landscape shifts, policy changes, and emerging procurement opportunities.

Feedback Loop: Provide continuous market insights to leadership teams to help shape future offerings.
Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree.

Experience: 10+ years of progressive sales experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role (Director or Senior Director level).

Track Record: Demonstrated success securing large, complex public sector contracts and driving significant revenue growth.

Leadership: Proven ability to build, scale, and manage high-performing sales teams.

Advanced degree (MBA or related field preferred).

Experience selling advanced technology solutions (highly desirable).
