Job Description:
Accountant Lead
Contract-to-Hire: 10 Months
Hybrid: Two days a week onsite
Local Candidates Only
Richmond, VA
Pay Rate Range: $45.00/hr – $50.00/hr
Conversion Salary: Around 80-90k + 7% VIC
Summary:
As an Investments team member, youll play a key role in the innovative investment strategies that enable financial products to serve customers and their families when they need us most now and in the future.
Responsibilities:
- Support accurate U.S. GAAP and U.S. Statutory accounting and reporting for the organizations Alternative Assets investment portfolio, supporting large scale projects, developing and maintaining robust internal controls framework
- Evaluate system outputs to ensure appropriate accounting treatment for our alternative assets portfolio
- Research and review of accounting guidance to assess existing processes identifying potential efficiencies and/or gaps in current business processes
- Perform assigned accounting responsibilities, including account reconciliations, transaction reviews, loan pricing analysis, real estate owned accounting, and journal entry and financial reporting preparation.
- Partner with the Finance Teams across all product lines and assist in the development and execution of Investment strategies
- Collaborate cross-functionally to create efficiencies and deliver superior business results
- Support accounting policy implementation and strategic business process redesign efforts
- Help maintain SOX controls documentation and evaluate deficiency risks through on-going review and validation of key operational processes
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or other business-related discipline
- CPA is preferred
- 2-5 years of U.S. GAAP and/or U.S. Statutory accounting and reporting experience
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships across cross-functional groups and communicate complex information clearly
- Ability to balance multiple projects at once and prioritize appropriately
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills
- Ability to manage multiple and changing priorities
