Job Description:

Long-term Contract
Hybrid (3 days onsite) in Richmond, VA

Position Overview

We are seeking a senior-level technical professional to provide analysis, maintenance, development, and project management for large-scale Legacy Revenue Systems. This role focuses on ensuring the stability of mission-critical state tax processing applications while facilitating a transition toward modern platforms.

The individual will bridge the gap between legacy environments and modernization initiatives, designing the interfaces necessary to ensure data continuity, accuracy, and performance throughout the system’s lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain and support legacy enterprise-level revenue management systems.
Assist in the development and implementation of system modernization initiatives.
Design and support critical interfaces between legacy architectures and modern platforms.
Serve as a technical authority to ensure the stability of mission-critical applications under the guidance of executive management.
Collaborate within an Agile environment to deliver project milestones on time.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Skill	Required Experience
Integrated Tax & Revenue Systems: Deep functional knowledge of state-level integrated tax systems.	9 Years
Legacy Platform Support: Proven track record supporting legacy tax platforms and large-scale modernization efforts.	7 Years
Relational Databases: Hands-on experience with Oracle 19c+, DB2, SQL Server, or MySQL.	7 Years
Mission-Critical Development: Ability to design and maintain clear, maintainable code for high-stakes systems.	7 Years
Project Tracking: Experience using tools like Azure DevOps or equivalent for software lifecycle management.	2 Years
Agile Methodology: Experience working within an Agile development framework.	3 Years
Collaboration: Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplined team.	3 Years

Preferred Qualifications

Strategic Oversight (8+ Years): Demonstrated experience serving as a technical authority or principal architect for state revenue systems, providing oversight across multiple functional areas.
System Design: Advanced technical knowledge in the design, development, and maintenance of state-level revenue management systems.
Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
