SAP Success Factors Security Administrator

Role Overview
The SuccessFactors Security Administrator will oversee the security and governance of a comprehensive SAP SuccessFactors environment. This position is critical for protecting sensitive HR data in alignment with corporate governance, compliance, and privacy standards. You will act as a key liaison between HR, IT Security, Internal Audit, and HR Technology teams to maintain a robust Role-Based Permissions (RBP) model and ensure continuous audit readiness.
Key Responsibilities
Security & Access Governance
-
Design, maintain, and optimize SuccessFactors Role-Based Permissions (RBP).

Manage user groups, permission roles, workflows, and specific data access restrictions.

Perform regular access audits to uphold least-privilege principles and Segregation of Duties (SoD).
Compliance & Risk Management
-
Align security configurations with internal controls, SOX requirements, and global privacy standards.

Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, access records, and change logs for audit evidence.

Partner with Internal and External Audit teams during review cycles.
User Provisioning & Support
-
Manage the full user access lifecycle (onboarding, transitions, and offboarding).

Troubleshoot complex access issues and manage defect escalation.

Advise HR partners on the security implications of role assignments.
System Maintenance & Enhancements

Support SAP biannual release management and lead regression testing for security.

Assist in the deployment of new modules and system enhancements.

Update security governance standards and process documentation.
Cross-Functional Collaboration

Collaborate with HR Operations, Centers of Excellence (COEs), IT Security, and Identity & Access Management (IAM) teams.

Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on SuccessFactors security best practices.
Candidate Requirements
-
5+ years of SuccessFactors security administration with expert-level RBP knowledge.

Deep understanding of HR data structures and lifecycle workflows.

Professional familiarity with SOX, GDPR, corporate access controls, and enterprise risk.

Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities.
-
High-level communication skills for bridging the gap between HR and technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
-
SuccessFactors Certification (Employee Central or Security).

Technical experience with SAP IAS/IPS, SSO, and Azure Active Directory.

Professional background in HRIS, IT Governance, or Enterprise Security.

Prior experience navigating large, matrixed corporate environments.
