IT Implementation Engineer

Remote

As an IT Implementation Engineer, you will analyze legacy voice services (including POTS) to determine whether to migrate them to modern solutions or decommission them. This role functions as a hybrid between a Technical Business Analyst and a Project Coordinator, requiring the management of 20–30+ sites simultaneously. You will be responsible for researching requirements, validating data, and facilitating communication between technical teams, branch associates, and third-party vendors.

Key Responsibilities

• Legacy Service Analysis: Evaluate existing telephony, fax, and alarm services across multiple sources to determine location-specific needs.

• Migration & Implementation: Coordinate the porting of toll-free or POTS lines to BVoIP or e-fax services and facilitate the installation of “POTS-in-a-Box” for alarm systems.

• Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination: Manage third-party contractors and collaborate with internal security, facilities, and engineering teams to ensure smooth transitions with minimal disruption.

• Project Tracking: Ensure timely and accurate documentation of all work-order activities using enterprise tools like SharePoint, Planner, and Microsoft Lists.

• Decommissioning: Oversee the disconnection of old services once new standards are successfully implemented and tested.

Requirements

• Experience: At least 3 years in voice telecommunications with a focus on service analysis and large-scale enterprise project execution.

• Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of voice systems, e-fax, and alarm communication pathways (POTS, radio, or cellular).

• Project Skills: Proven ability to handle multiple projects/sites at once, including requirements gathering and data validation.

• Software Proficiency: Expert use of Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Excel, Teams) and project management software.

• Soft Skills: Exceptional complex problem-solving abilities, strong attention to detail, and the poise to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with AT&T porting procedures and platforms like BVoIP, ReadyLine, or IPTF.

• Experience with Telecom Expense Management (TEM) platforms or facilities management tools like ServiceChannel.

• Knowledge of Zendesk and specialized systems like MetTel’s Bruin or EtherFAX.
