Job Description:
100% on site in Bedford, MA
We are seeking a proactive Junior Cybersecurity Analyst to provide foundational Information Assurance (IA) and Cyber Defense support to our customer community. In this role, you will assist with system-level security risk mitigation, configuration management, and compliance auditing in strict accordance with Federal, Department of Defense (DoD), and U.S. Air Force instructions. This is an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated professional looking to grow their expertise within the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and military cyber operations.
Key Responsibilities

Compliance & RMF Support: Assist with System Security Plan (SSP) reviews, Certification and Accreditation (C&A) processes, and re-accreditation requirements. Review Air Force checklists and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Vulnerability & Configuration Management: Review Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM) alerts, bulletins, and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) to support system remediation and ensure documented hardware/software configurations.

Risk Tracking & Mitigation: Track, manage, and report on open security-related problem logs, fixes, and cyber metrics to ensure customer environments meet rigid security baselines.

Identity & Access Management: Support the creation, management, and processing of user accounts, Data Loss Prevention (DLP) profiles, and firewall exception requests.

Operational Security Support: Assist with Classified Message Incidents (CMIs), support TEMPEST certifications for Classified Processing Areas, and participate in broader cybersecurity project initiatives as assigned.

Customer & ISSO Outreach: Provide helpful reach-back support and participate in Staff Assistant Visits (SAVs) with appointed Information System Security Officers (ISSOs).
Required Security & Certifications

Clearance: Active DoD Secret security clearance is required.

DoD 8570 Compliance: Active CompTIA Security+ certification is required on day one of employment.
Education & Experience Requirements
-
Education: Bachelors degree (BS/BA) in a relevant technical or business field.

Substitution: An additional 4 years of direct, relevant experience may be substituted for the formal degree requirement.

Experience: 3+ years of experience relevant to federal or defense IT/cybersecurity operations.
Technical Skills & Core Competencies
-
Directives & Frameworks: Strong foundational knowledge of Air Force and DoD Cybersecurity Directives, Instructions, and the Risk Management Framework (RMF).

Systems Administration: Working knowledge of Windows Desktop Operating Systems (Windows 10/11) and Microsoft Active Directory.

Hardware & Troubleshooting: Familiarity with computer and server hardware, backed by strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

Platform Operations: Hands-on experience or working knowledge of the ServiceNow ticketing platform and Microsoft SharePoint.

Professional Skills: Highly proficient with Microsoft Office (specifically Excel data handling); strong team collaboration, customer service, and positive communication skills.

Adaptability: Self-motivated with an ability to resolve tier-1/tier-2 security issues quickly and efficiently in a dynamic team environment.
