“We may be in this restrictive lockdown until late 2021.” Those were the words spoken on January 6, 2021 by Dr. Anthony Fauci, our nation’s leading expert on COVID-19.
Little did any of us know what would befall our country, or the world for that matter, last March when COVID-19 entered our nation and changed our way of life.
The result has been a massive shift to Work from Home and more group conference calls than we ever could have imagined. Thankfully, all the advanced technologies now available in our marketplace have made it easy for us to adapt to, and succeed in, this new way of working very quickly.
Our ability to work from home and do most of what we could do in the office has been expedited by improved Wide Bandwidth secured Internet. In addition, our ability to talk to and see our clients and colleagues, all virtually, has been enhanced by tools like Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, and WebEx.
Many organizations went into this lockdown thinking we would be in the position for only a few weeks.
TECHEAD works with many Fortune 500 organizations and at first everyone seemed to think that this was a temporary solution that would work for a short time. As the pandemic dragged on, they have found the remote work concept to be working so well, that they may keep it around longer, even after COVID restrictions have lifted.
Now, as we approach a whole year in this situation, we all seem to be doing generally fine. In fact, it appears that when the pandemic is finally under control, numerous businesses and organizations may not go back to an office-only work environment.
Imagine if COVID-19 had hit say 30 years ago, when TECHEAD was just getting started. How would businesses and workers have functioned? Luckily for all of us, when COVID shut down workplaces in 2020, the robust offerings of remote meeting tools have progressed to such an extent that none of us really seem hampered by the change in venue.
As rapidly as the pandemic disrupted our everyday work routines, we have embraced new technologies that have enabled us to remain productive and in touch with our daily lives. TECHEAD remains in the forefront of ensuring our staff, our clients and our contract workers will continue to thrive in this fast-changing world. We look forward to “seeing” you throughout 2021, virtually and, hopefully, eventually in-person.
