Job Description:
Electric Distribution Operator I

Contract: 1 Year
Onsite 100%
Local Candidates Only
Richmond, VA

Top Must Have Skills:
1) multi-tasking (handling changing priorities constantly)
2) computer-based skills (all Windows applications, typing, etc.)
3) data analysis (review multiple information sources to determine appropriate action)

Top “nice to have” Skills: 
1) GIS
2) Electrical background
3) AutoCad
4) Microsoft office

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for service restoration and distribution switching activities using extensive knowledge of electrical distribution systems including technical knowledge of operations and switching practices.
• Ensure all reporting is completed to keep management informed of system conditions, circuit, outages, key and critical customer interruptions, and extended outages.
• Communicate with on-call/duty field and office personnel on status of distribution outages and service restoration efforts.
• Will complete the Switching Supervisor Training Program to become ROC switching certified within 12 months.
• Shift-oriented workforce.
•  Rotating Shift Work / 8 week schedule

Requirements:

• Preferred experience with dispatching, emergency services, military experience, complex database management, and customer service.
• Understanding of the Electric Distribution System
• Independent and sound problem resolution
• Ability to address multiple tasks simultaneously
• Handle constantly changing and emerging priorities; Leadership abilities 
• MUST be available and committed to working a flexible 24/7 shift schedule as well as overtime and storm callout as business needs require.

Education:

• High School Graduate/ GED
