Full-time, Hybrid position (2 – 3 days onsite in Richmond, VA)

Our client is a organization committed to improving lives by promoting greater independence, enhanced mobility, and overall wellness through their products and services, looking for a seasoned financial professional to take on a leadership role within their finance team.

Position Overview:

Are you a CPA with a solid foundation in auditing and a passion for precision? We’re looking for a hands-on Director-level Accounting Leader to oversee critical financial functions and ensure the integrity of our financial operations. This is a key leadership role reporting directly to the head of Finance and Accounting, offering the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the financial health and strategic direction of the organization.

What You’ll Do:

• Direct the daily operations of the accounting department, including billing, receivables, payables, payroll, and ledger management.

• Manage the complete financial close process and ensure all reporting is accurate and GAAP-compliant.

• Design and maintain effective internal controls and ensure adherence to financial regulations.

• Serve as the point of contact for external auditors and lead the annual audit process.

• Deliver actionable financial insights that support key business initiatives and planning.

• Mentor and lead a team of accounting professionals, fostering a culture of performance and accountability.

• Streamline accounting procedures and implement best practices for operational efficiency.

• Stay informed of changes in accounting regulations, compliance matters, and industry developments.

Who You Are:

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required.

• At least 10 years of progressive experience in accounting, with a significant focus on audit.

• Demonstrated leadership experience in building and managing accounting teams.

• Deep understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial compliance standards.

• Analytical mindset with excellent communication and organizational skills.

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.

• Strong proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.

Nice to Have:

• Prior experience with Acumatica ERP is a strong plus.

• Background at a Big 4 public accounting firm is highly desirable.
