This month, we’re excited to introduce you to Matt Eagle, who stepped into the role of Federal Business Development Manager when he joined us in January 2025. We caught up with Matt to learn more about what makes him tick:
Work & Career
- What is your favorite part of working at TECHEAD?
So far, it is the culture. TECHEAD is unique in its approach of having a lot of support/advice and at the same time giving you the freedom to set goals and accomplish those goals. - What are you most proud of in your career so far?
If we are talking about my entire career, it would be my professional status in baseball. Playing baseball professionally as a pitcher for the Los Angeles Angels was the cornerstone to helping me build the confidence to succeed and grow my self-image. It allowed me to understand that anything is possible to those who believe. - What do you think makes our team culture unique? It is the autonomy of work with the overarching support of leadership.
- What’s your favorite thing you’ve worked on while at TECHEAD so far?
We are still early in the process, but I was able to complete a request to be added to a team supporting the Navy. - What is one thing that you wish people knew about your job?
That it is possible to have a strong team if the talent and commitment is there. This team is very strong. - What’s the most rewarding part of your job?
Being able to have the freedom to chase goals daily and continue to develop new skills along the way. - If you could give one piece of advice to new employees, what would it be?
Lean on your leadership. They are always there to help. - What’s a skill you’d like to develop or improve?
Continue to learn the skills of subcontracting and eventually in the future learn to become an incumbent on contracts that are direct to the DoD. - What’s one goal you’re working toward this year?
My goal is to establish a stable territory and continue to bring value to the company. Also, to push myself to bring the best version of myself daily.

- Where do you live and who do you live with?
I live in Norfolk, VA with my wife and two daughters. - What hobbies do you have?
Personally, I attend leadership conferences, continue to learn new ideas around selling, and of course, going to the gym. With my family, it’s about sports and quality time. I am a Christian as well, so involving my family in Christ-centered activities. - Where is the coolest place you’ve ever visited?
Orem, Utah during the summer was one of the best places I have been to. - What cities have you lived in?

Lexington, Virginia - Do you play any instruments?
I play bass guitar and classical stand-up instruments. - When you were young, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A professional baseball player - What is one thing that not many people know about you?
I was born in Puerto Rico and was invited to play for their baseball team in the World Baseball Classic.

- What are three items still left on your bucket list? Traveling to Africa, compete in CrossFit, and visit Israel

- What piece of advice would you give to your younger self? Focus on the dream, not the current circumstance.
- What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? Hard work beats talent when talent stops working hard.
- What’s something you’ve learned recently that excited you? Understanding the power of a vision.
