Job Description:

Onsite DevOps Engineer

Location: Suffolk, VA (100% Onsite)

About the Role:

Join our team to play a crucial role in the Training DevSecOps pipeline core infrastructure and data center. As a DevOps Engineer, you will leverage your expertise in storage and retrieval methods to contribute to the development and maintenance of our critical systems. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Apply your knowledge of current storage and retrieval methods to formulate and develop clear specifications and requirements for our programming team.
• Provide technical guidance and oversight to personnel involved in system and software development, ensuring high-quality deliverables through thorough reviews.
• Collaborate closely with the Project Manager to ensure effective problem resolution and achieve exceptional customer satisfaction.
• Contribute to strategic decision-making by providing recommendations for major computer system installations.
• Keep stakeholders informed by preparing comprehensive milestone status reports and engaging presentations on system concepts.
• Provide daily supervision and mentorship to supporting analysts and technicians.

Qualifications:

• Demonstrated ability to formulate and develop specifications and requirements for computer programmers in coding, testing, and debugging.
• Experience providing technical direction for system and software development tasks, including quality reviews.
• Proven ability to coordinate with Project Managers to ensure problem resolution and customer satisfaction.
• Experience making recommendations for major computer system installations.
• Ability to prepare clear and concise milestone status reports and presentations.
• Experience in providing daily supervision to supporting analysts and technicians.

Clearance & Certifications:

• Clearance Level: Secret
• Certifications (IAT Level II – One of the following):
  • Security+ CE
  • GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC)
  • Security Certified Network Professional (SCNP)
  • System Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)
  • Preferred: RHCSA Red Hat Certified System Administrator or RHCDS Red Hat Certified Data Center Specialist
• Required: Functional area certification (must be obtained prior to start date)

Required Skills & Experience:

• A Bachelor’s degree is preferred, or at least eight (8) years of technical experience analyzing, designing, implementing, configuring, and patching advanced computer systems.
