Principal Software Engineer

3 Month Contract
Remote
Must be local to NY/NJ

We’re looking for a seasoned Principal Software Engineer to lead the modernization of our Assessment platform, which serves both B2B and B2C audiences. This role combines hands-on architecture, coding, and team leadership. You’ll play a pivotal role in building a modern, resilient, and scalable platform that directly improves the aging journey for millions.

What You’ll Do:

• Architect and develop a modern Assessment platform using technologies such as TypeScript, React, React Native, Flutter, and GraphQL.

• Lead technical decision-making and enforce best practices in software architecture, design patterns, and clean code standards.

• Drive modular, scalable, and secure systems that are built for longevity and performance.

• Mentor engineers through code reviews, technical guidance, and ongoing coaching to support their growth.

• Work closely with product managers and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into reliable, well-designed software.

• Establish and maintain CI/CD pipelines and champion DevSecOps best practices.

• Help define our hosting and deployment strategies to ensure fast, secure, and reliable releases.

What You Bring:

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, including leadership roles.

• Expertise in multiple programming languages and frameworks including TypeScript, Node.js, Next.js, Flutter, React Native, Swift, and Kotlin.

• Deep experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and high-performance database design.

• Proven success leading large-scale, impactful software projects end-to-end.

• Experience building real-time video communication applications and managing B2B APIs.

• Knowledge of SSO integration for B2B portals and experience with asynchronous transactional systems.

• Strong track record in deploying iOS and Android apps with high user satisfaction (4.5+ ratings).

• Familiarity with eCommerce integrations (e.g., Adyen).

• 2+ years of domain experience in the Senior Living industry.

• Excellent collaboration, communication, and team-building skills.
