In this 100% onsite role, you will lead the charge in orchestrating Agile Release Trains (ARTs), ensuring seamless delivery across multiple product teams, and aligning all efforts with stringent DoD governance, cybersecurity, and acquisition protocols.
This is a pivotal opportunity to transform legacy systems into secure, scalable, and modern infrastructure, directly supporting warfighter readiness and mission-critical operations.
Key Responsibilities
As an RTE, you will:
Agile Train Facilitation
- Serve as the servant leader and coach for multiple Agile Release Trains.
- Facilitate key Agile events, including PI (Program Increment) Planning, ART Syncs (Scrum of Scrums and PO Sync), Inspect & Adapt sessions, and System Demos.
- Champion relentless improvement and lean thinking across ARTs.
Program Execution & Coordination
- Drive program-level execution across development teams, cybersecurity, DevSecOps, testing, and integration workstreams.
- Ensure strict compliance with DoD standards, including RMF, FedRAMP, and system ATO processes.
- Actively track dependencies, manage risks and impediments, and provide real-time transparency to stakeholders.
DoD-Specific Leadership
- Serve as the primary interface with DoD stakeholders, aligning release plans with mission outcomes and program constraints.
- Support critical documentation and milestone planning (e.g., Acquisition Milestones, Clinger-Cohen Act compliance, system lifecycle artifacts).
- Lead coordination efforts across government and contractor teams within Joint Integrated Product Teams (IPTs).
Metrics & Governance
- Define and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as velocity, predictability, cycle time, and ART health.
- Support agile governance bodies and architecture boards.
- Implement continuous integration and delivery pipelines consistent with the DoD DevSecOps Reference Architecture.
Qualifications
Clearance
- Secret clearance is required.
Certifications (IAT Level II)
- One of the following certifications is required:
- Security+ CE
- GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC)
- Security Certified Network Professional (SCNP)
- System Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)
- RHCSA Red Hat Certified System Administrator
- RHCDS Red Hat Certified Data Center Specialist
- You must also possess a Functional Area Certification (required prior to start date).
- An active SAFe RTE certification is required (or the ability to obtain it within 90 days of hire).
Required Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master’s preferred.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience as an RTE, Program Manager, or Agile Coach in a SAFe (Scaled Agile) environment.
- DoD Program Expertise: Proven experience in large DoD or federal IT programs, ideally within cloud migration or software factory contexts.
- Agile Proficiency: Deep understanding of SAFe, Lean, and Agile principles, with hands-on experience running ARTs.
- DoD Compliance: Familiarity with the DoD acquisition lifecycle, RMF, and cybersecurity compliance requirements.
- Soft Skills: Strong facilitation, negotiation, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Agile toolchains such as Jira Align, VersionOne, Rally, GitLab CI/CD, or similar.
- Experience in Agile contract delivery (e.g., Performance-Based Acquisition, Agile Metrics in Earned Value Management environments).
- Prior military or DoD civilian experience is highly valued.
