Job Description:

Database Engineer (DBE) (Full Scope Poly Required)

Database Engineer (DBE) requiring an active Full Scope Polygraph clearance, DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification, and 100% on-site work in Annapolis Junction, Maryland.

This role focuses primarily on the front end of the system lifecycle (requirements through testing), responsible for technical database design, development, and modeling to create robust, efficient, and secure database structures.

Key Responsibilities

• Database Design & Architecture: Provide technical expertise for database design, development, and implementation. Lead the development of the database structure to ensure it fits into the overall system architecture.

• Requirements Translation: Develop complex requirements from project inception to conclusion. Translate a set of requirements and data into a usable document or database schema by creating or recreating ad hoc queries, scripts, and macros.

• Database Development: Develop relational and/or Object-Oriented databases, database parser software, and database loading software. Build complex systems using queries, tables, Open Database Connectivity (ODBC), and database storage and retrieval, including using Cloud methodologies.

• Trade-Off Analysis: Analyze and make critical trades among competing factors such as data volumes, number of users, logical/physical distribution, response times, retention rules, security, and domain controls.

• Long-Range Planning: Project long-range requirements for database administration and design.

• System Optimization: Assist with and direct recommendations for, and analysis and evaluation of, systems improvements, optimization, development, and maintenance efforts.

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university.
