Job Description:

Computer and Research Scientist

Are you a highly motivated and talented Computer and Research Scientist looking to join a team with a long history of providing best-in-class service and support? We are seeking a Computer and Research Scientist to drive innovation and optimize information technology solutions.

In this role, you will:

• Conduct fundamental research in computer and information science, acting as a theorist, designer, or inventor.
• Develop innovative solutions to complex problems in computer hardware and software.
• Apply expertise to define, integrate, and transition information technology solutions into Department of Navy (DON) infrastructure and systems.
• Analyze the computer and information needs of the organization from both an operational and strategic perspective.
• Ensure the availability, continuity, and security of critical information technology solutions.
• Recommend and support continuous process improvement initiatives.

Required Certifications, Qualifications, and Experience:

• Active NAVSEA Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) Level I or higher certification.
• Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) in Business, Engineering, or a related Technical Discipline.
• Note: The original text listed “An active NAVSEA RCM Level II or higher certification” redundantly. I’ve assumed the Level I or higher is the primary requirement, but if Level II is strictly required, please clarify.
• A minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience. This must include:
  • At least six (6) years of experience with information systems, specifically including work with Authoring & Lifecycle Environment (ALE), Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETM), or Navy Maintenance systems.
  • At least four (4) years of experience integrating data from systems with at least five (5) distributed sources, which combine directly controlled and shared/outside databases, and involve mixed connectivity for data synchronization. (Experience may be concurrent).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Current DoD Secret security clearance
• Ability to travel as required.
