Job Description:

Location: Salt Lake City
Schedule: Full-time, with flexible shift options available (e.g., 8-hour, 9-hour, or 10-hour shifts)
Duration: 12 + month contract role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Pre-Construction Gas Account Representative to join our growing team. In this role, you will be the central point of contact for new gas main line extensions, working closely with builders, developers, and internal teams to ensure projects are managed efficiently from start to finish. The ideal candidate is a forward-thinking problem-solver with strong communication skills and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team environment. You will play a pivotal role in contract administration, project coordination, and maintaining the highest level of customer confidence.

What You Will Do:

  • Serve as the primary support for processing new main extensions and service lines, managing all required office duties and documentation.

  • Collaborate directly with builders and developers to contract new gas utility projects and manage the entire process for new utility setups.

  • Administer customer contracts, ensuring compliance, proper invoicing, payment, and timely processing of contribution refunds or defaults.

  • Review and process developer plats, sketches, and Right-of-Way documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.

  • Oversee the submission and application of construction permits for a variety of projects, maintaining meticulous and retrievable records.

  • Serve as a key point of contact for customer inquiries via phone, email, or in-person, providing resourceful and attentive support for issues related to new service lines and main extensions.

  • Update and maintain critical department files and assist with the scheduling and coordination of special meetings, training, and compliance reviews.

  • Compile reports and conduct reconciliation of vendor and customer accounts.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience, preferably in the utility industry.

  • Must have prior experience working directly with builders and/or developers to contract new utility main line extensions.

  • Demonstrated experience assisting with or managing the collaboration of teams for new utility installations.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent. A combination of education and related experience may be considered (e.g., a college/technical degree with 2 years of experience, or 4 years of relevant clerical experience).

  • Proficiency with basic computer skills and applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Strong mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and professionally.

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain an acceptable driving record.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in the utility industry is highly desirable.

  • Knowledge of gas line locations, mapping, and permitting processes.

  • Familiarity with Right-of-Way procedures (e.g., obtaining permits from the BLM, State Highway, Forest Service).

  • Knowledge of Utah or Wyoming Tariff and rate structures.

Work Environment & Important Information:

  • This role requires the handling of Private Personal Information (PPI), Company Sensitive Information, and Credit Sensitive Information.

  • The position involves the frequent use of a company vehicle. As such, the candidate is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements, which may include random drug and/or alcohol testing.

  • Work is primarily performed in an office environment with prolonged use of a computer and keyboard.

  • The role may periodically require working outside in various weather conditions, with some bending and lifting of up to 50 lbs.

  • Overtime may be required to ensure project completion.

  • The selected applicant must adhere to all established company policies and will be required to attend a defensive driving course.
