This month, our Employee Spotlight is on TECHEAD Director of Business Development, William Schoof.
William joined the team at TECHEAD in November of 2023 as the Director of Business Development. He lives in Richmond, VA with his wife Sarah, daughter Sallie and dog Redd. We asked William a few questions to get to know him better:
- What is your favorite part of working at TECHEAD? The people and culture. At TECHEAD there is a true family atmosphere.
- What are you most proud of in your career so far? Helping people find work and being a partner to my clients to help deliver top talent to successfully achieve their objectives.
- How would you describe your company culture? The culture at TECHEAD is tremendous. It is very collaborative and welcoming.
- What’s one thing people don’t know about you that they would be surprised to find out? I was onboard for an emergency plane landing on a commercial flight.
- What piece of advice would you give to your younger self? Be patient. Continue to work hard and the hard work will pay off.
- What do you think makes our team culture unique? The people – the way we treat each other and great leadership.
- If you could have any superpower, what would it be? The ability to fly.
- What do you enjoy most about working at TECHEAD? My colleagues and the culture.
- What is one thing that you wish people knew about your job? It’s hard work but very rewarding.
- What hobbies do you have? Spending time with family, playing and watching sports.
- What is your favorite movie? Saving Private Ryan (Platoon is a close second).
- What’s your favorite food and drink? Pizza and a good IPA.
- Favorite place to eat/drink around town? Burton’s, Hard Shell, Wood and Iron, Gersi, Portico
- What’s the last song you listened to? Probably something from Frozen or Frozen II or the Grinch.
- Favorite cartoon character? Superman
- Favorite sports team? Seattle Seahawks
- Do you have any pets?A dog. An English springer spaniel named Redd.
- Where is the coolest place you’ve ever visited? Bora Bora – islands in French Polynesia.
- What cities have you lived in? Richmond and Ashland (never lived outside of VA).
- Do you play any instruments? Tenor saxophone
- What are three items still left on your bucket list? Go to Australia and New Zealand, go to a Super Bowl, attend a Taylor Swift concert with my wife and daughter.
- Do you know any other languages? If so, what are they? Conversational Spanish
- Do you have any heroes (sports, business, etc.)? My father
- If you could splurge on one must-have item, what would it be? A pool
- When you were young, what did you want to be when you grew up? Veterinarian
- What is one thing that not many people know about you? I swam with sharks on my honeymoon.
